Hughes, Ryan

Ryan Hughes is an Adjunct Professor of Kinesiology at both George Mason University
and Northern Virginia Community College. He is also the Head Athletic Trainer for all
student athletes at Annandale High School and works as a Certified Athletic Trainer for
Ortho Virginia. Ryan also previously taught at California State University Northridge. He
earned a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Science from Penn West University in
California, PA, and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from California State
University Northridge. He has current memberships in the National Athletic Trainers’
Association, National Strength & Conditioning Association, and the Virginia Athletic
Trainers’ Association. Ryan holds the following certifications: Certified Strength &
Conditioning Specialist (CSCS); Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Certified Speed
Specialist (CSS), National Association of Speed & Explosion (NASE), Impact Trained
Athletic Trainer/ Concussion Specialist (ITAT), Red Cross CPR/AED for professional
rescuer, and several specialized therapy techniques.
