Katie Fuchs has worked as a certified teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools since 2017. She most recently taught at Woodlawn Elementary and Belle View Elementary schools in Alexandria. Katie taught fourth grade for two years and fifth grade for three years, including in inclusive classrooms in which mixed ability students were placed together. She provides daily classroom instruction in language arts, math, social studies, and science in whole group and small group settings. She has experience working with ESOL learners and students with learning differences and is just finishing an additional teaching credential in special education. Katie did her student teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools and was a teaching intern for Prince George’s County Public Schools. She earned a BS in Elementary Education and Teaching from the University of Maryland and a graduate certificate in “English Language Learners in Special Education” from Old Dominion University. Katie will be tutoring math for 1st-5th grade and language arts for 3rd-5th grade starting in June 2023.
