Winter Warm Ups Cooking Classes for Kids

Want a fun, healthy way to warm up this winter? Try a homeschool cooking class at Compass! When it is chilly outside, kids can be indoors learning to cook delicious dishes with hearty winter flavors. Many sources such as CBS News, the New York Times, WebMD, Live Strong Foundation, and others have written about the positive, life-long benefits of teaching kids to cook!

Compass still has openings in 7 cooking classes for kids from kindergarten to high school aged! See the schedule for the meeting times and the full class description. Registration for cooking “Winter Warm-Ups” and all other classes is ongoing. Classes begin on January 11. A 10% early registration discount is offered through December 16. Your kids will come home eating new foods they haven’t tried before. The winter menu includes:

  • Savory Cheese Balls (appetizer)
  • Succotash (salad)
  • Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
  • Baked Mushrooms and Olives (side)
  • Corn Casserole (side)
  • Chicken a l’Orange with Seasonal Herbs (entree)
  • Eclaire Squares (dessert)

In addition, there will be a special class session on the how-to of sauces. The class will learn to make basic sweet and savory sauces with a variety of tasters and dippers.
