Spring Arrives at Compass…Look at the Fun Things Planned!

Don’t forget your coolers, blankets, and folding chairs- tomorrow is forecasted to be 77 degrees and sunny! Not your typical “school” supplies, but spring has returned to Compass, and our outdoor space beackons! Everyone is looking forward to spring at Compass. Check out the fun things we have planned for spring:

March 30/April 1: Spring quarter classes begin with interesting, innovative classes such as:

  • Puppet Craft Workshop
  • Minecraft 3D Engineering with LEGO
  • Water Color Techniques for Spring
  • Stage Combat: Fighting with Found Objects
  • Discovering Dinosaurs & Fossils
  • Learn to Draw Manga Comics
  • …and dozens more for homeschoolers in K-12!

Registration is ongoing, and new families are welcome. See the website for complete details. Mark your calendar for some of the other the fun things planned at Compass this spring:

April 6: Critical Thinking Company resource sale. Hands on preview of materials and expert guidance in selecting materials. See last year’s sale details as a preview.

April 27: Used Curriculum Sale – start to clean off your shelves. Sell your used books, educational materials, games, and software in one big yard sale rather than onesie-twosie sales in the Social Hall! No table fees. Sellers must be current Compass families, but shoppers from the greater homeschooler community are welcome.

May 11: Spring Family Marketplace where Compass parents and students can showcase their skills and sell baked goods, arts, crafts, handmade items, and consultant/catalog items. See last year’s details for a preview! (rain date of 5/18)

May 21: RunFit Kidz 5K Fun Run for students and their families who take the “RunFit Kidz: Train for a 5K” program this spring. Enjoy running and exercising on our serene, wooded campus!

May 25, May 27: Last Day for most classes!

June 1: Chess Quads Tournament and End-of-Year Picnic and Field Day – A fun chess tournament suitable for beginners to advanced players held outdoors. Medals are awarded to the winner of each quad. Online registration begins in April. See last year’s tournament and field day details for a preview.
