Just 2 Months Left for President’s Volunteer Service Awards!

This summer are you working at a camp? Cleaning up a park? Do you like to help animals, support the elderly, honor veterans, fight hunger, care for children, or combat homelessness?

Earn a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Medal doing just that! Compass is a certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA). Established in 2003, this award honors individuals who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service over the course of 12 months. Compass students ages 5-18 can earn an award doing volunteer work. For our teens, a PVSA award, or several, will be a noteworthy honor on future college or scholarship application.

There are just 2 months left to get involved in the President’s Volunteer Service Award program!

Earning an award is simple! Set up an online account, link your account to Compass, and enter your hours as you complete volunteer work. Your volunteer work does not have to be completed just for this award: it can be work you already do through Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, your church or youth group, civic club, or with your family. Our volunteer year ends August 31, so you still have time to make your summer work count.

For details about eligibility, getting started, and what does/does not count, see the PVSA page on the Compass website.

Compass is also seeking business and community partners to support our PVSA program. Contact Compass to ask how your business can sponsor the awards of homeschooled kids who making a difference in their communities- and have your business recognized for doing so!
