Homeschooling High School? Drop In Tomorrow to See Compass!

Are homeschooling a teenager? Are you strategizing about how to homeschool high school?

Compass has more than 30 classes for high school students next year, and many others for 7th & 8th graders. Registration is underway for a broad selection of classes which includes 3 AP courses, 6 honors level classes, many core classes, and fun electives. All classes are taught by professional instructors, subject matter experts, and teaching artists. Registrations completed by June 15 will receive a 10% early discount.

Friday, May 24, is our last “Teen Friday” of the year! If you are wondering if Compass classes will suit your teen, you are invited to drop in tomorrow to ask questions, view some classes in session, see the facility, and preview the schedule. We can assist with registrations on-the-spot. No appointment necessary- just drop by any time between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Compass high school classes are year-long, semester-long or quarter long, and meet on Wednesdays, Fridays, or Wednesday & Friday in a 30-week academic year. A partial list of classes includes:

  • Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry
  • Science: AP Environmental Science, Physics: Newtonian Mechanics, Integrated Science, Biology, Anthropology, Veterinary Science
  • Technology: AP Computer Science, Robotics Tech Challenge, Programming Lab: Mobile Apps
  • English: Building Blocks of American Literature, Non-Fiction Seminar, Inkblots Literary Magazine, Shakespeare Off the Page, Public Speaking
  • Humanities: AP Psychology, Philosophically Speaking, 3D History: WWII Beyond the Blitzkreig, Civics Critic, History Investigators
  • Foreign Language: Spanish I, ASL I
  • HS Skills: Stock Market Challenge, Ace the ACT & SAT
  • Electives: Mosaics, Paint Studio, Guitar, Cooking for Teens, Open Mic/Jam Session, Krav Maga Self Defense, Fundamentals of Drawing
  • Compass offers opportunities for teens throughout the year including social events, teen parties, Alpha Rho chapter of the National Homeschool Honor Society, the President’s Volunteer Service Awards, a Mock Trial team, a homeschool string orchestra, academic contests, and more.
