Fall Feature: Beginning and Intermediate Guitar Classes

Learn the fundamentals of playing the guitar in a fun, small-group class! Homeschooled students will learn basic melodies, chords, and strumming patterns for familiar songs. The class will learn to read musical notation and basic music theory as well as how to hold, tune, and care for their guitars. Students of all ages enjoy working with instructor Lee Nathanson, a professional musician and instructor who is teaching 3 classes at Compass this fall:

  • Beginning Guitar for Kids (5th-8th grade)- Wednesdays from 2:00 pm- 2:55 pm starting September 12.
  • Beginning Guitar for Teens (7th-up)- Fridays from 12:00 pm- 12:55 pm starting September 7.
  • Intermediate Guitar for Teens (7th-up)- Fridays from 11:00 am – 11:55 am starting September 7. (Intermediate students have usually had 15-30 hours of prior instruction)

    • Homeschool parents are welcome to register for the Friday guitar classes to learn along side of their kids or while waiting for their teens in other classes.
