Acting for Young People Comes to Compass!

Compass is pleased to welcome Acting for Young People to our team of talented instructors! AFYP is well known for its area camps, after school programs, showcase performances, workshops, and touring productions. AFYP is the theater division of George Mason University’s Potomac Arts Academy. AFYP’s faculty is made up of working professionals in the industry, actors, directors, and teaching artists.

AFYP will be leading a new class, “Acting FUNdamentals: Take the Stage” for students in 1st-3rd grade starting October 26. Young actors will use theater games, improvisation, and storytelling to develop characters, personas, and learn to move on stage. Through group activities and individual parts, young actors will build confidence and enjoy being part of an ensemble for a final showcase.

All actors must be at least age 6 to sign up for this class. The class begins October 26, and meets for 7 weeks from 12:00 – 12:55 pm. Register for this class and others online.
