New ‘Science-Sense’ Tuesday Afternoon Workshops at Compass

Compass is excited to announce 6 new, science-focused, afternoon workshops this winter for students in grades 4-6. The series is called “Science-Sense“, and the workshops are taught by Sheila Anwari, the founder of Therapeutic Arts, Science, and Growth Mindset. Starting January 1, TASGM will be co-located in Compass’s Herndon learning center in Room H-12. Workshops will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 3:15 pm- 4:45 pm. Mix and match workshops by registering individually or take all six:

• 1/23/24         Science-Sense: Geode Geology
• 1/30/24         Science-Sense: Creative Craters (Lunar Astronomy)
• 2/6/24           Science-Sense: Pampered Potions (Chemistry)
• 2/13/24         Science-Sense: Mystery Lab
• 2/20/24         Science-Sense: Super Sounds (Acoustic Engineering)
• 2/27/24         Science-Sense: Human Body Brainteaser (Biology)

These science workshops qualify for the VA K-12 Learning Acceleration Grant. If you have a December 30 deadline to use your grant funds, register this week to receive grant-formatted invoices for payment.
