Homeschooled students do not have to miss out on the fun, friendship, and excitement of playing in a band.
This fall, Compass is bringing back a multi-level band program for homeschool students in 5th-12th grade with options for Beginners, Advanced Beginners, and Intermediate musicians. Students will meet weekly on Mondays beginning September 14 to build skills, play as an ensemble, and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from making music with others.
Compass Band will be directed by Benjamin Stern, an experienced music educator and former trumpeter with the Baltimore Ravens’ Marching Ravens.
Not sure which instrument is the right fit? Go ahead and register for band! Students enrolled in band are invited to our ‘Band Bash’ Kick-Off Party and Meet-the-Director event on Wednesday, September 2. Music & Arts will be on-site with test instruments, guidance for selecting an instrument, and information about rentals.
