Special Effects Make-Up Clinic (1PM)- 10/27/25 WAITLIST

Description:

From stage and screen and just in time for Halloween! Learn ghoulish special effects make-up tricks from a professional make-up artist. In this two-hour clinic, teens will learn how to create realistic effects that they can apply to transform themselves into a zombie, monster, troll, demon, or other dark creatures. Students will learn how to create hollow, sunken eyes, cuts and gashes, scars and scabs, bruises, burns, warts, and peeling or ripping skin using professional make-up products on themselves or their friends. Part of the clinic fee includes a kit of five, take-home Mehron make-up products (a $50.00 value): a bruise color ring (5 colors), tri-color palette of cream make-up (3 colors), coagulated blood gel (1 oz.), modelling putty (0.4 oz), and liquid latex (1 oz) along with make-up sponges and applicators. Each student must bring a stand-up table top mirror to the class. The clinic is for students ages 12 and up.

This clinic is being taught by Samantha York of Chantilly, VA. Samantha earned a Diploma in Master Pro Makeup Artistry from the Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry in Oakland Park, FL, and she is a Licensed Esthetician. She is employed by Kings Dominion as a special effects make-up artist for their annual Halloween Haunt and Winterfest events, along with local theaters and short film projects.
