Laura is a freelance writer and editor who is also an experienced homeschool educator with strengths in English, literature, and writing instruction. She is involved with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and has served as a national judge for the NCTE Achievement Awards in Writing, Promising Young Writers, and Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) programs. She has taught high school English in a homeschool co-op setting, where two of her students received recognition in the NCTE Achievement Awards in Writing, earning Excellent and Superior distinctions.
Professionally, Laura contributes to blogs and nonprofit publications and participates in a biweekly writers’ circle. She previously worked as a technical writer and editor on a contract for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), where she translated federal law and regulations into clear policies and procedures.
