Oladapo Olutola Adu is a chess International Master (IM) who earned his title from the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in 1999. He is a former Nigerian National Chess Champion (1995) and has represented Nigeria in multiple Chess Olympiads, competing at the highest levels of international play. He also qualified for the 2015 FIDE World Cup, where he faced former World Champion Veselin Topalov. Adu has achieved a peak FIDE rating of 2334 and continues to compete in rated tournaments. In addition to his playing career, he holds earned the training credentials as a FIDE Instructor (2012) and FIDE School Instructor (2023). Adu works as an instructor at GM Chess Prep under Grand Master Rashad Babaev.
