Larry Newell, Ed.D. is President and Chief Operating Officer of Emergency Training Resources, LLC. He has more than 25 years of experience in health and safety education and leads a team of professional instructors providing training for both laypersons and healthcare providers. Larry formerly served as National Executive Director of the Emergency Care & Safety Institute, where he directed worldwide operations for more than 3,500 training centers and led the development of classroom and online training programs used internationally. He also served as Vice President of Educational Services and Medical Director for Ellis & Associates Aquatic Risk Management Consultants, overseeing medical operations and educational programs for aquatic professionals worldwide and coordinating regulatory compliance. Larry is a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) and a Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Paramedic (CCEMTP). He provides risk management and litigation consulting and is a court-recognized expert witness. His case experience includes more than 200 civil and criminal matters involving medical malpractice, emergency preparedness and response, aquatics, recreation and sport safety standards, and ADA compliance. Dr. Newell holds a Doctor of Education in Education Administration from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Education from Baylor University.
