Shannon McClain earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University and a Master of Arts in the teaching of writing and literature from George Mason. Shannon worked as an elementary school teacher in Virginia and as a teacher/consultant with the Northern Virginia Writing Project, offering in-service presentations to kindergarten through university teachers. She works as as a homeschool evaluator and advocates for families who need help navigating the public school system through her business, Educational Advocacy & Support, LLC. Shannon lives in Herndon with her family, which includes two college students whom she homeschooled through high school.
