Dr. Nona Martin Storr is a historian with extensive experience teaching world and U.S. history at the university level. She earned her Ph.D. in History from George Mason University, along with Master’s Degrees in Library and Information Science from University of South Florida and Public History (Museum Studies) from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Storr has served as an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of History and Art History at George Mason University since 2017 and previously taught as a graduate teaching assistant and adjunct professor. She has developed and taught courses including Western Civilization (Antiquity to Present) and U.S. History (Pre-Columbian to the Civil War).
Dr. Storr is also an accomplished scholar and currently serves as a Senior Affiliated Scholar with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Her research and publications focus on social movements, protest, disaster recovery, and the role of community and culture in shaping historical events. She is the author and editor of multiple books and peer-reviewed articles, bringing a strong analytical and research-based perspective to her teaching. In the classroom, Dr. Storr emphasizes critical thinking, historical inquiry, and connecting past events to real-world contexts, helping students develop a deeper understanding of history and its relevance today.
