Beekeeping Basics
Description:
Join a local backyard beekeeper to learn beekeeping basics. Find out what it would take to start your own hive! Discover how pollen affects color and taste and how purity and quality are measured. Learn about the history of honey production, medicinal uses, and the behavior of bees.
This is a hands-on interactive workshop where you will observe LIVE honeybees and honeycomb from a safe, glass-enclosed observation hive. Assemble a beehive frame with wood and wax, extract honey, taste-test honey, and take a small jar home.
Parents are welcome to take this workshop alongside their children but must register themselves also.
We are sorry but registration for this event is now closed.
