At Compass, we know that interactive clubs can challenge and strengthen the character and academic development of your children. That’s why our list of clubs has been growing every year! Clubs are run by staff and volunteers, and meet on-campus alongside our other enrichment classes. Read more about our current offerings below!

Academic Bowl Clubs

Compass has two Quiz Bowl Teams just for them! Middle School and High School students who love the nitty gritty of almost any topic will get together each week to test their knowledge, challenge each other, and practice as they prepare for area quiz bowls and bees.

Alpha Rho Chapter, Homeschool Honors Society

As part of the Technovation Team, girls will work in small groups to identify a problem in the community, propose a technology-based solution, and learn to program a unique mobile app to address the issue.

Astronomy Club

Compass has a “stellar” Astronomy Club for space enthusiasts in 6th-12th grade. The group enjoys presentations, outings, discussions and projects about all things “space”!

Checkmate Champs Chess Club

Checkmate Champs is a friendly, low-stakes atmosphere where players will have the chance to play in person, OTB (“over the board”) and practice winning and losing graciously, self-discipline, concentration, and critical thinking. For ages 7 – 14.

Pickleball Club

Our club introduces kids to the basics of the game with exciting drills, team challenges, and friendly matches for kids in grades 1 – 6.

Technovation Team for Girls

Mock Trial

The team participates in the Virginia High School Mock Trial Competition through the Virginia Law-Related Education Institute (VLRE), and has been highly-ranked every year. 

Compass Collaborative Newspaper

The Compass Collaborative is published four times per year corresponding to Compass’s four quarters. Get involved in the quarterly newspaper as an enrolled staff member or unenrolled guest contributor.
