At Compass, we know that interactive clubs can challenge and strengthen the character and academic development of your children. That’s why our list of clubs has been growing every year! Compass has two Quiz Bowl Teams just for them! Middle School and High School students who love the nitty gritty of almost any topic will get together each week to test their knowledge, challenge each other, and practice as they prepare for area quiz bowls and bees.

Checkmate Champs is a friendly, low-stakes atmosphere where players will have the chance to play in person, OTB (“over the board”) and practice winning and losing graciously, self-discipline, concentration, and critical thinking. For ages 7 – 14.

The team participates in the Virginia High School Mock Trial Competition through the Virginia Law-Related Education Institute (VLRE), and has been highly-ranked every year.
Compass Collaborative Newspaper
The Compass Collaborative is published four times per year corresponding to Compass’s four quarters. Get involved in the quarterly newspaper as an enrolled staff member or unenrolled guest contributor.
