Kayla Sesko is a professional makeup artist and the creative talent behind Blushing Bones FX, specializing in special-effects makeup, character transformations, and traditional beauty applications. She serves as makeup manager and costume director for the Town at Markoff’s Haunted Forest, where she supervises a team of makeup artists who transform performers into an imaginative cast of eerie and otherworldly characters.
Kayla began working at Markoff’s more than a decade ago after originally applying as an actor. Today, she works full time in special-effects and traditional glam makeup and is known for her skill with airbrush equipment, earning the nickname “the airbrush witch” among her colleagues. Her film work includes special-effects makeup credits on The Jester, Satanic Hispanics, The Only Ones, Wind and Bone, and Air Shift. She also served as key makeup artist and special-effects makeup artist for The Haunted Forest.
At Compass, Kayla introduces students to the artistic and technical process behind convincing stage wounds, bruises, scars, aged and weathered skin, and dramatic creature effects. She helps students experiment confidently, develop their creative vision, and discover how theatrical makeup can transform an original character from concept to performance.
