Tanya Oswalt is an experienced English and language arts instructor with a background in literature, writing, reading comprehension, grammar, editing, and English language instruction. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Critical Analysis of Literature, Culture, and Film with a minor in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where she graduated magna cum laude and was a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society. She also studied English Education at the University of Wisconsin–Superior.

Tanya has taught language arts to students ranging from preschool through adulthood. She taught English to middle school and high school students internationally at schools in St. Petersburg and Zelyony Gorod, Russia, worked as a literacy intervention specialist at private academy in Pensacola, Florida, and instructed university-level writing as a tutor at the University of Wisconsin. Tanya employs the Principled Eclecticism approach in her teaching which is a flexible, student-centered approach, drawing from a variety of instructional strategies to make discussions interesting, interactive, and inclusive for all students.


Her experience extends beyond the classroom through work as a professional, freelance writer and proofreader. Tanya is also the owner of Elevate English Goals, where she provides individualized English and literacy instruction. She is also a Microsoft Certified Professional.
