Compass will be Open on Wednesday, January 28

Compass will be open for classes and activities on Wednesday, January 28. The roads around Compass are clear and dry. The parking lot is plowed, and sidewalks are clear.

A few of our teachers who commute from distant locations (such as MD and WV), may have different road conditions and may make individual decisions in the morning not to hold class. All families should check their email and text messages in the morning for any isolated, teacher-specific changes. A few classes will meet in different rooms tomorrow to accommodate outdoor classes moving indoors.

Important: Typical with plowed parking lots, there are mounds of snow that fill or extend into parking spaces. Parents are asked to not allow their children to climb on these miniature hills because they are more ice than snow and very slippery.

Furthermore, everyone is asked to walk on sidewalks and enter the sidewalks at designated, paved entries. We are all accustomed to walking across the grass strip in front of the buildings. The snow and ice on the grass is slippery and dense and not safe to walk on (see photo). Please avoid this area and use the sidewalks!
