Great news! The Compass Schedule of Fall Classes is now complete! Early Registration begins next week on Tuesday, May 13 at 6:00 am. A 10% discount is offered through June 13. Registration includes 1st quarter, 1st semester, and year-long classes. Classes begin September 8, 2025.
Join Compass for our 14th year! We are continuing to innovate and create new opportunities for homeschoolers. New families are welcome to enroll. More than 200 classes are offered a-la-carte for homeschooled students in PreK-12th grade. Mix and match classes in math, science, engineering, technology, history, humanities, geography, writing, English, French, Spanish, ASL, art, music, drama, dance, cooking, chess, fitness, fencing, career exploration and more! All classes are taught by enthusiastic subject matter experts and teaching artists.

Special Programs:
- Little Learners’ Lab Preschool…Choose Tuesday and/or Thursday for a 2-hour program for 3.5-4.5 year olds.
- Compass Kindergarten…Choose Monday (language arts-focus), Wednesday (math readiness), and/or Friday (science) for 3-hour “taste of kindergarten” program. Enroll in one, two, or all three mornings.
- Homeschool Parents’ Peer Group...Facilitated parent group to answer homeschooling questions and how-to’s
- Mammoth Math…complete math curriculum for 4th or 5th grade, 2 class days per week.
- Reading Rally… complete language arts curriculum.10 levels offered. Students must complete a skills inventory with the reading specialist before registering in order to be assigned a reading group level.
- Homeschool Concert Band…join the first homeschool concert band in the region for grades 5-8. Also see the Children’s Beginner Band (for grades 2-4)
- Homeschool String Ensemble…small group ensemble for violin, viola, cello, and bass, grades 4-8.
- Ballet Fun, Ballet Foundations…homeschool ballet classes held in conjunction with neighboring Herndon studio, Alchemy Ballet (3 blocks from Compass).
- Homeschool Swimming…3 levels, 1 or 2 days per week. Partnership with Reston YMCA (0.9 miles from Compass).
- Advanced Placement (AP) Classes…2 authorized AP classes offered in: 2-D Art & Design and Calculus A/B.
- Honors Level…6 high school classes are offered at the Honors level.
- Professional Certificates…teens can earn professional certificates as EMRs/EMTs, Certified Microsoft Office Specialist, or Virginia Food Handler card.
- Private Music Lessons…Contact us to sign up for block of individual lessons in voice, piano, ukulele, clarinet, flute, saxophone, ukulele, guitar, drums, violin, viola, cello, and more
- Masked Classes…7, small-group classes for families who remain COVID Cautious and require masking. Contact us for more information.
