Super Spellers Club
Compass has a super fun Super Spellers Club for elementary and middle school-aged kids who love spelling and words!
Each week, students gather for to play games and puzzles featuring spelling, word roots, and word origins. Through engaging activities, students learn tips and tricks for spelling and participate in practice spelling bees and challenges. Members of the Super Spellers club are encouraged, but not required, to participate in the annual Junior Spelling Bee or Senior Spelling Bee at Compass each winter.
Club members must be homeschooled 1st-8th graders from the metro DC area. Members do not have to be current Compass students, however, non-Compass students may be asked to provide evidence of good standing as homeschoolers with their county’s current year acknowledgement/receipt of Notice of Intent and Evidence of Progress.
Super Spellers Club meets weekly on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 am – 9:55 am in the Social Hall. Super Spellers Club meetings begin the 3rd week in September. The club meets weekly until late February when the Senior Spelling Bee is held.
All members, new or returning, must register for Super Spellers Club online through the Compass Store. There is no cost for current, registered Compass students to join. There is a $20.00 activity/facility fee for non-Compass students.
