Learn More: Take the Fear Out of Physics
High School Physics! Why does the mention of Physics strike fear in the hearts of many? Compass wants to take the fright out of Physics with a virtual information session with our instructor, Manal Hussein. Join Ms Hussein via Zoom on Wednesday, August 24 at 4:00 pm for an overview of the class structure and answers to questions about expected homework, math level, and more. Contact Compass for the Zoom link.
Physics is a fundamental science that examines tangible, observable, everyday events in our physical world. Compass has a small-group high school Physics class for college-bound teens who need a laboratory science. Many students discover they enjoy physics because it finally makes sense of much of the abstract math they have been learning. Labs are interactive with predicting, measuring, timing, and collecting data.
Compass Physics has a virtual lecture each Monday morning from 9:00 am – 9:55 am and a 1.5-hour in-person session on Wednesdays from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Read the complete class description and register online.
Note sure if your homeschooled teen should take Physics? Read about ‘why students should study physics?’ and Seven Myths About High School Physics from the American Physical Society. Khan Academy’s College Admissions tips and the College Board both suggest Physics as one of your three or four lab sciences if you are applying to a competitive college.
