Nora May is a credentialed yoga instructor for kids’, teens’, adult, family, and adaptive yoga at Beloved Yoga in Reston. She began her practice of yoga at Health Advantage Yoga Center (HAYC) in Herndon in 1995. Since 2016, Nora has been teaching yoga classes at area childcare centers and preschools, private and public schools, enrichment program sites, summer camps, community centers, public libraries, workplace wellness programs, and yoga studios, bringing the advantages of yoga practice to all ages and abilities. She completed the Adaptive Hatha Yoga Teacher Training from the Integral Yoga Academy in Yogaville, VA; a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Health Advantage Yoga Center; and the 95-Hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training at Beloved Yoga. Nora is certified as both a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) by the Yoga Alliance, and she holds a certificate in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T). Nora earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University and a Master of Education in Special Education from the College of New Jersey in Trenton, NJ. She formerly held Postgraduate Professional Licenses in Elementary Education and Special Education and was a National Board Certified Teacher who taught in Trenton, NJ, and Loudoun County public school systems.
