Herman, Lorrie
Lorrie Herman is an artist who has had a brush or pencil in her hand as long as she can remember. In the early 2000s, Lorrie began to take painting classes and discovered plein air painting where she prefers landscapes such as a historic street scene, lake, or barn. She particularly likes the light and shadows created by painting outdoors. Lorrie paints in both watercolors and oils using both brush and palette knife techniques. She continues to develop her painting techniques through workshops with local and international artists. Lorrie is a member of the Vale Arts Group, Northern Virginia Artists League, Board of Potomac Valley Watercolorists, and the Loudoun Sketch Club. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising Design and a minor in Art History, from the University of Maryland, College Park, and continues to do freelance graphic design work.
