Steve Geyer is an inventor and builder at heart. For nearly fifty years he has developed unique hardware and software solutions including a wide range of robots spanning many different technologies and techniques. He leads the Robotics Interest Group at NOVALabs. His diverse career has included work on both government and private industry projects. Steve has founded several companies and has been involved with most aspects of hardware and software design and implementation. He has held the titles of Technical Fellow, Chief Scientist, Chief Technology Officer, Vice President of Engineering, Architect, and Programmer. Steve has developed Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning algorithms and currently builds Augmented Reality (AR) products. He has developed multiple mobile applications for iOS and Android and frequently works with Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, NVIDIA Jetson products along with custom hardware. He has written device drivers, developed advanced data processing and data mining techniques, created media encoding products, designed web products, and contributed to the early internet. Steve programs in C, C++, C#, Clojure, Go, Java, Javascript, Objective C, Python, Ruby, Scala, and Swift. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1979.
