New Members Invited: Alpha Rho, National Homeschool Honor Society!
Homeschooled 8th-12th graders, are invited to join Alpha Rho, the National Homeschool Honor Society for next year!
Alpha Rho meets one Friday afternoon per month at Compass, starting in September. What does Alpha Rho do?
Alpha Rho is a student-run organization with opportunities for leadership and camaraderie. For many, membership in Alpha Rho will be a noteworthy credential on their personal resume or college applications. Alpha Rho is the Compass-chartered chapter of Eta Sigma Alpha. See the chapter website and Membership Application for more information, including FAQs.
Why now? Homeschoolers start thinking about year-end testing for Virginia’s Evidence of Progress (EOP) in the spring, and you can use some of the same information to apply for Alpha Rho. While PSAT, SAT, Pre-ACT, and ACT scores are accepted for the application, many of those test dates have been cancelled this spring. Plan ahead to use the same scores for EOP and your Alpha Rho application from the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, Stanford Online, TerraNova/CAT 6, or the Classic Learning Test (CLT) suite. Free, upcoming online versions of the CLT-8 (May 6), CLT-10 (April 29), and CLT (June 20) are scheduled soon!
