NEW: Homeschool Ballet Classes

New! Compass has partnered with Alchemy Ballet Academy in Herndon to offer several homeschool ballet classes this fall. Ballet classes will be held in a Alchemy’s new studio, just two blocks from Compass. Classes begin September 7.

  • Ballet Fun (Mondays, 10:00 am – 10:50 am) for preK through 2nd grade (min. age 4)
  • Ballet Fun (Wednesdays, 10:00 am – 10:50 am) for preK through 2nd grade (min. age 4)
  • Ballet Foundations (Mondays, 11:00 am – 11:50 am) for 3rd-8th grade
  • Ballet Foundations (Wednesdays, 11:00 am – 11:50 am) for 3rd-8th grade

Registration is for one morning class, however students who wish to further their skills are encouraged to sign up for both Monday and Wednesday morning lessons. First quarter, Monday sessions are 5-weeks long (due to holidays), and Wednesday sessions are 7-weeks long. The 50-minute introductory classes are timed to allow students to return to Compass’s learning center for later classes.

Alchemy Ballet is a nonprofit arts organization that was co-founded by homeschool parents. Alchemy features the Vaganova ballet method under Academy Director and former Kirov lead faculty, Marianna Rozanova. The academy boasts internationally acclaimed artistic leadership and is associated with a ballet company comprised of freelance professionals and advanced pre-professionals. Compass ballet students will have an opportunity to audition for the academy’s winter performance.
