NEW! 3 Language Arts Classes Added for Fall
Many of Compass’s language arts filled quickly, and some families were worried about wait lists, so we have added THREE new language arts classes to our Thursday fall schedule. Christina Somerville will be returning this fall to teach:
- NEW: Write to the Point: Paragraphs & Articles (grades 7-8): A 13-week, semester-long middle school writing class
- NEW: Great Books for Girls (grades 4-6): An interactive 6-week, book club-inspired class based on award-winning juvenile fiction
- NEW: Best Books for Boys (grades 4-6): An interactive 6-week, book club-inspired class based on award-winning juvenile fiction
Remember that a language arts curriculum should include both literature (reading) and composition (writing) at all grade levels, with younger students also needing at-home work in phonics, spelling, grammar, comprehension, and handwriting.
