3 Months Left to Earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award
There are just 3 months left for homeschooled students to earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award through Compass. This award celebrates the volunteer work that students complete from September 1 through August 31 each year. Since many homeschoolers volunteer in the community and at camps during the summer, this is a great time to get started. For teens, the PVSA award can be a noteworthy recognition on college applications to demonstrate community involvement and leadership.
The PVSA award is given at the Bronze, Silver, and Gold level, depending on the student’s age and number of volunteer hours completed. Students receive a medal and personalized certificate at an awards ceremony in the fall.
If you are interested in earning the PVSA, please read all Compass program details including dates, how to document your work and what kinds of volunteer work you can do. Compass will certify the PVSA for area homeschooled students, including those who do not attend Compass classes.
Students must sign up to let us know who is working on the award and to receive PVSA-specific reminders. There is no cost to Compass students who can register HERE. There is a nominal facility/activity fee for non-Compass homeschooled students who can register HERE. Questions about the PVSA program should be directed to awards@compassclasses.com
