Compass Kindergarten, Summer Bridge, and More for 5s
Do you have a 5-year-old? Congratulations on beginning an exciting educational journey! Compass has some fun, hands-on, options that families can mix-and-match to create their own, unique kindergarten year.
Summer Bridge to School
Join us for a 5-day Summer Bridge to School program. It is 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday to give 5-year-olds a taste of the routine of “school” whether they are heading off to public school, private school, or homeschooling. Little ones will practice playing and working together, sitting for circle time, story time, and lunch time. The June Summer Bridge Program is scheduled for next week, June 19-23. The August Summer Bridge Program will be held August 7-11. Little ones can enroll in one or both Summer Bridge programs.
Compass has 3 options for single, half-day Compass Kindergarten in the fall. Compass Kindergarten gives students a weekly routine and a peer group for families who have elected to homeschool or whose children are not quite ready for full days, five days per week. Compass Kindergarten runs 10:00 am- 1:00 pm, and families can choose from three focused days: Mondays- language arts, Wednesdays- math, or Fridays- science. Enroll in one, two, or all three sessions. Each kindergarten day will feature circle time, story time, themed projects, lunch time, fun, age-appropriate academic readiness activities, and plenty of social time. Registration is by 14-week semester.
Fall Enrichment Classes
Compass also has choices for enrichment classes that homeschool kindergarten families can mix-and-match on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays such as Ballet Fun, Junior Art Studio, Music Makers, Kinder Kitchen, Junior Engineering with LEGO, Swimming, Nature Quest, Number Ninjas, Reading Ready, and Soccer Shots. Registration for enrichment classes is by 7-week quarter.
Compass kindergarten teacher and reading specialist Danielle Mercadal (“Miss M”) is available for private tutoring for emerging readers this summer. Contact Compass for schedule availability and rate.
*Note: Contact us to discuss if you are interested in these programs, and your child is 5 but turning 6 late summer or early fall, or 4-1/2 and turning 5 in the fall.
