Big News on New Planets! Find Out in All About Astronomy

Almost every week, there is a headline about new planets being discovered well beyond our own solar system. Quanta Magazine headlined this as, “Planet Discoveries Piling Up.” This winter, students will work with an engineer and amateur astronomer to explore these headlines and examine the exciting search for exoplanets. The class will use NASA curriculum and other resources to understand recent discoveries and try to answer questions such as, How big? How far? How much like Earth? and, Could there be life? This class is geared for students in 5th-7th grade.
