Auditions for Student Production of Edgar Allan Poe

Calling student actors, ages 12 and older! The “Compass Theater Company” is holding auditions for roles in its spring performance of the works of Edgar Allan Poe.

Seeking:  Male and female actors, ages 12 and above

What:  Role in the Edgar Allan Poe project and a place in the Compass Theater Company class

Call:  Open call (no appointment or advanced preparation necessary).

Rehearsals:  Take place 4th quarter during a scheduled class period. All students cast for this production will be required to enroll in the 11:00 am class at Compass 4th quarter.

 

The not-yet-titled production will be an anthology of stand-alone shorts based on and inspired by the stories & poetry of Edgar Allan Poe.

Compass Theater Company is a student led-production team under the guidance of Bette Cassatt, a stage veteran who regularly works around the region as a professional director, playwright, actor, fight director, dramaturg, and costumer. She is leading the “Compass Theater Company” class from page-to-stage where students have been learning to develop production notes, block a scene, sketch set concepts and construction notes, create costume sketches, plan lighting cues and sound effects, and apply stage make-up in addition to directing, casting, and acting.
