Generation Code is team of computer science experts and educators who teach coding to kids! The Generation Code curriculum is project-based with a focus on real-world skills. It has been developed collaboratively by educators and programmers using research-based best practices. Generation Code programs have been taught widely in public and private schools in New York City, and the firm celebrated the opening of its new Vienna, VA, lab in April 2017. Generation Code offers in-school, after-school, and enrichment programs and camps along with professional development for other educators. Generation Code is part of the New York Code + Design Academy. The lead coding instructor for Compass will be Dan Brockwell, the Generation Code lab director. He has prior experience as a computer science enrichment educator. Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Game Design and Development from Rochester Institute of Technology.
